We know that fighting day to
day with the disease
of the addiction costs
of work and pain, for the addict
one as for its family. Here
we taught to both to face the
life with certain tools that
we will mention ahead.
What the resident in this stage
learns into a new way to live.
The family also learns to face
this change.
The post-treatment
that Extensive Care Clinic offers,
persecutes the double objective
to rehabilitate the patient
and its family; starting off
which the disease of the addiction
is not an isolated disease,
but it affects all the family.
All the members are affected,
since they display conducts
and feelings associated with
the disease of the addiction.
In this process, the moment
arrives for working by the hand
all to correct or to modify
those patterns of conduct. In
a parallel growth with the addict
and thus to obtain the personal
progress and the familiar
harmony starting off
with the example of sober house,
as it is it this house.
What we expect of the
resident.
. Honesty
. Open Mind
. Good will
. Commitment
. Certainty
. Service
. Gratitude
The goals and objectives
of the group
1.- To increase
the patient's self-esteem.
2.- To review
and to increase their systems
of limits.
3.- To make
conscience of their reality
and imperfection.
4.- To manage
to take care of their subjects
like being human adult.
5.- To give
them the freedom to express
their reality moderately.
6.- To identify
their perverse forms to control
and to manipulate their reality.
7.- To eliminate
resentments and revenge.
8.- To manage
and discover their spirituality
and to find a higher power grater
then themselves.
9.- To realize
that their secondary addictions
helps them to evade their reality.
10.- To identify
there qualities, abilities and
personal interests.
11.- To communicate
verbally and corporally and
the feelings and thoughts in
an open and accurate manner,
with honesty.
12.- To choose
behaviors that go according
to their values.
13.- To recognize
there emotions and the impact
that they have in there moods,
their attitudes and their behavior.
14.-To run
risks that promote the healthful
behavior and reducing their
destructive behaviors.
15.-To recognize
the impact that their behavior
has on others.
16.- To recognize
that they cannot give what they
do not have.
During the period of recovery,
the principal goal is to change
their life style.
They have established a way
of life centered around there
addiction, a way of life that
requires the use of addictive
substances to manage stress
that results from the addiction.
In the first stage of the recovery
the life style was designed
by professionals that help the
patient begin there recovery
process.
The addict is now ready to
reduce his amount of therapy's
and learn to establish a normal
life style.
Instead of focusing there attention
in not using addictive elements,
he most focus in the results
of his actions, his job and
his family.
As an addictive person it's
typical for him to establish
a way of life centered around
his addiction although he
is now abstinent, this is
carried out with other addictions
different from the original
addiction.
OUR GOAL IS TO ESTABLISH
A BALANCED WAY OF LIFE FREE
FROM ADDICTIONS, BASED ON THE
VALUES AND ACTIVITIES OF SOBRIETY
A balanced life involves
a program of recovery that's
active but less intense that
the primary treatment. It
includes work, family, social,
and friendship activities,
time for self development
for the recovery and time
for the exercise and appropriate
diet.
Manage the stress and resist
the urge to substitute the addiction,
this are important factors for
the process in the Half-Way
House.
